Latvian U21 Football Team: 2027 Euro Qualifying Roster

Riga, Latvia ‍ Latvia’s U21 ⁣men’s national football​ team roster for ⁣upcoming European Championship qualifying matches features six players currently competing for clubs outside of Latvia, the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) announced ‍Friday. The team will host Georgia on October ‍10th at 6 pm and Greece on October 14th​ at 5 ‌pm, both games taking place ⁤at the LNK ​Sports Park Stadium in Riga.

The inclusion of players from Georgia, Estonia,⁣ italy, Ireland, Slovakia, and‍ England‌ signals a ‌broadening recruitment net for head coach Jakub Dovalill as Latvia seeks to advance in the qualifying​ tournament. The U21 European Championship serves as a crucial advancement pathway for young players, with the top 16 teams ultimately competing in‌ the 2027 finals hosted by Albania and serbia. Qualification is achieved by winning each of the nine qualifying groups, plus the best runner-up, with eight additional playoff spots ‌determining the remaining​ finalists.

The ⁤squad includes ‌newcomers Dāvis williams Veisbuks, Alexander Molotkov, and Robert boč, alongside potential debutants Nikita Pinchuk and Kristers Volkov. The team begins training camp in Riga on Sunday. Latvia previously opened qualifying with ‍a⁤ 5-0 loss to Germany in Rostock last month.
