Latvia witnesses the unveiling of the new motorbike “Ducati Diavel V4”

With the V4 Granturismo engine, the performance and driving pleasure of the Ducati Diavel become even more exciting. The impressive lighting system and the interesting exhaust make the characteristic muscular and organic style of the Diavel even more distinctive. 14 kg lighter for even more amazing driving performance.

The Ducati Diavel V4 is unique, unmistakable and has a dashing personality. With the introduction of the sophisticated V4 Granturismo engine, the Diavel’s performance becomes even more amazing. Ducati’s 1158 cc V4 with 168 hp and 126 Nm of torque is the perfect engine for a ‘Power Cruiser’ type bike, able to combine linear power at lower revs with strong torque throughout the rev range.

Muscular, sporty, exaggerated and at the same time elegant, the Diavel V4 combines the unique technical, dynamic and stylistic characteristics between the “Sport naked” and “Power Cruizer” types of motorcycles. The Diavel V4 caters to the many and varied needs of motorcyclists, from sports enthusiasts looking for a more comfortable and stylish motorcycle, to those looking to ride in urban and relaxed environments, to performance and drag racing enthusiasts.

The updated Ducati Diavel V4 impresses with dynamic performance, the ability to please in sporty driving and thrills with impressive acceleration and deceleration, as well as low-speed cruising. Nothing goes unnoticed thanks to the unmistakable design presence of the Diavel V4. What’s more, it impresses with its suitability for mid-range touring, while maintaining surprisingly comfortable rider and passenger positions.

A clear line

The Diavel V4 makes its presence known at first glance. Muscular and angular, with broad “shoulders” and proudly visible quad exhaust ports, the 2023 Diavel V4 immediately announces the refined architecture of the engine. Drawing inspiration from muscle cars and superhero aesthetics, the Diavel V4 portrays the image of an athlete who is ready to sprint
both for the marathon, as its mass concentrates forward, leaving a light, streamlined tail.

The distinctive full LED headlamp and tail lamp clusters and turn indicators also contribute to the unmistakable appearance of the Diavel V4. The front DRL* changes the look with a double C profile that differs from the previous styling language.
The rear light unit consists of a matrix of dot LEDs placed under the tail with an unmistakable Ducati lighting signature: a unique, unprecedented and impressive solution that is instantly recognisable.

As with previous Diavel models, the massive 240/45 rear tire remains a special feature. The wheels are five-spoke alloy with a profile adorned with machined surfaces – one of the most refined aesthetics of the Diavel V4.

Engine

The Diavel is powered by a 1158cc V4 Granturismo engine, which is a key element of the motorcycle’s industrial design. This technical choice simultaneously improves performance, dynamics and driving pleasure thanks to Ducati’s sophisticated choice of counter-rotating crankshaft, which reduces the gyroscopic effect while increasing driving agility.

Powerful (168 hp), rich in torque at every rev (with a maximum value of 126 Nm at 7,500 rpm), but also extremely light and compact, the V4 Granturismo engine is both smooth and pleasant from low revs. It also features low running costs, high maintenance at 60,000 km intervals, a world record, and efficient fuel consumption and emissions thanks to an extended cylinder deactivation system. This feature shuts down the rear cylinders not only when the vehicle is stationary, but also when driving at low engine speeds with reduced engine load.

The “Twin Impulse” combustion sequence, together with a special exhaust system developed with special attention to “sound quality”, clearly characterize the V4 Granturismo stamp. An extended rear cylinder deactivation system, which allows the engine to operate as a two-cylinder or four-cylinder engine with a seamless transition due to gradation, changes the exhaust
gas noise tone when switching from one mode to another. A deeper sound with lower frequencies characterizes the V4 Granturismo when only the two front cylinders are operating. The frequencies become higher when all four cylinders are operating. With the month of March this year, the motorcycle has gone on sale and test ride opportunities are also planned soon.

*DRL – “Day time Riding Lights” or daytime driving lights, which automatically switch to low beams in the dark.
