Latvia achieves highest cumulative Covid-19 incidence rate among Baltic States – Society and Politics – News

The cumulative indicator is 71.51 in Latvia, 70.15 in Lithuania and 35.85 in Estonia. Until now, Latvia had overtaken Lithuania at the end of March, May and mid-July.

Unlike Lithuania and Latvia, Estonia’s cumulative morbidity rate is gradually declining this week.

It has already been reported that 58 new cases of Covid-19 were registered last day, according to data compiled by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

A person infected with Covid-19 in the age group of 70 to 75 also died last day.

During the last day, 2690 Covid-19 examinations have been performed, meanwhile a total of 390 971 examinations have been performed in Latvia so far, 3450 persons have become ill, but 1329 have recovered.

The proportion of positive cases against those tested last day was 2.1%. The SPCC has previously explained that this figure is considered important in the European Union, as above 3%, the spread of the disease is considered to be rapid and uncontrolled.

The SPKC promises to publish more detailed information on new cases later.

According to the National Health Service, a total of seven Covid-19 patients were hospitalized last day. A total of 72 patients are treated in hospitals, of whom 66 have a moderate course of disease and six have a severe course of the disease. A total of 284 patients were discharged from the hospital, including both recovered and dead.
