Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government has tightened the requirements for Indonesian Citizens (WNI) and Foreign Citizens (WNA) who will enter Indonesia via air travel.
The tightening of travel requirements from abroad is carried out to prevent the spread of the Omicron Covid-19 variant, which has now spread to dozens of countries since it was first detected in South Africa.
The decision to tighten the entry requirements for Indonesian citizens and foreigners is regulated in the Circular (SE) of the Minister of Transportation 106/2021 concerning Amendments to SE 102/2021 concerning Guidelines for International Travel by Air Transportation During the Covid-19 Pandemic Period.
This rule is a follow-up to the issuance of the SE Covid-19 Task Force 23/2021 and the Addendum to the SE Covid-19 Task Force 23/2021 regarding international travel arrangements.
The following are a number of requirements for entering Indonesia from abroad for Indonesian citizens and foreigners via air travel:
Quarantine Period 10-14 Days
Through the latest regulations, the government has extended the quarantine period for a period of 10-14 days. This was previously stated directly by the Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Novie Riyanto.
The 14-day quarantine applies to Indonesian citizens from 11 countries who have previously been banned from entering Indonesia due to the confirmed spread of the Omicron Covid-19 variant.
Meanwhile, a 10-day quarantine applies to both foreigners and Indonesian citizens with a travel history from outside 11 countries who were previously banned from entering Indonesia.
Especially for Indonesian citizens with the status of migrant workers, students, and government employees who return after service, the cost of quarantine, PCR tests will be covered. While foreigners will be borne independently.
