The Vysokomýtský company is the successor of the original Karosa. This year marks the 125th anniversary of the founding of the company by Josef Sodomka. The plant in Vysoké Mýto is the largest production plant of Iveco Bus, which is a brand of the CNH Industrial Group.

The company produced 4,612 cars last year. Its production increased by seven percent year on year. The better results are due to the greater interest of clients in the long-distance Crossway line, which the Vysoké Mýto company produces.

The main markets for the company were in Western and Northern Europe. It delivered 1,524 vehicles to France, 799 to Italy, and 438 to Germany. It also exported to Norway and Austria.

Last year, Iveco sold 428 buses in the Czech Republic, which is 34.5 percent more than in 2018. More than 50 customers bought new cars, the most important of which were Arriva and ČSAD Central Bohemia.

Last year, the company exported 196 vehicles to Slovakia, which is a similar result as in the previous year. The main customers were Slovenská autobusová doprava Zvolen, Dopravní podnik Prešov and Dopravní podnik Trenčín.

The company also had larger orders in Croatia, and exported to Estonia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria and Russia. A total of 521 buses went to the territories of Central and Eastern Europe. Outside Europe, 370 were sold to Côte d’Ivoire.

Last year, the company employed 2,920 people, 322 more than a year earlier. In addition, the company temporarily employed almost a thousand agency workers.

The Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board of Iveco proposed to distribute CZK 814 million of the profits among the shareholders. 34 million crowns were to go to the social fund, the remaining 1.9 billion crowns were intended for transfer to the account of retained earnings of previous years.
