The incident occurred in Sinanpaşa District of the central Yüreğir district. Allegedly, Feride C., along with his friend AB and grandson Rabia Nur K., came to Kuva-yi Milliye Park on the banks of the Seyhan River. Feride C., who lived here for a while, went down to the river bed with her granddaughter, whose waters were withdrawn. Feride C. suddenly left herself in the water in front of her granddaughter, saying “I am very bored with this life, I do not want to live”. Feride C.’s friend AB, who saw suicide attempt, was shocked. Meanwhile, riverside fishers reported the situation to the police.

Trying to persuade Feride C. to get out of the water, AB finally took it and took it off. Fearful of Feride C., crying grandson Rabia Nur K. also calmed the police teams who came to the scene. Feride C., who had passed out, was taken to Adana City Training and Research Hospital after his first intervention by the medical teams, while his grandson Rabia Nur K. was delivered to his mother Burcu K.
