The jewelery industry, which has managed to increase its exports to 7 billion dollars in the last 4 years, has set its sights on world leadership. Emil Güzeliş, Vice President of the Jewelery Exporters’ Association and Chairman of the Board of Zen Diamond, announced that they will put the world’s largest diamond factory into operation in 2023 in Istanbul.
WHEN WILL THE DIAMOND FACTORY OPEN? HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL WORK?
It is aimed to employ 2 thousand people in the factory, which will be the largest diamond factory in the world. For the factory, which is planned to start operating in October 2023, Güzeliş will be the world’s largest diamond factory in “Turkey”. The whole world will come here to see this factory. Five years later, Turkey will be the world’s largest diamond producer. Our target is to increase our exports from 20 percent to 70 percent,” he said.
PRICE DECREASED TO 9 THOUSAND TL
According to the news in Turkey Newspaper; Emphasizing the interest in diamonds on special occasions, Emil Güzeliş stated that there was a significant increase in sales, especially on Valentine’s Day, and said, “Our sales are normally 1.5 times higher in February. In addition, since the solitaire is indispensable for marriage proposals, the summer months when marriages are intense also have a positive effect on our sales. In the last two years, men have started to shop with diamonds, especially with their choice of necklaces, bracelets or watches.” Güzeliş added that the average jewelery sales price decreased from 10 thousand 500 TL to 9 thousand TL as the diamond became accessible.
