Ministry of Health Coronavirus (corona virus) Science Committee Member and Karadeniz Technical University Farabi Hospital Chest Diseases Specialist Prof. Dr. Tevfik Özlü made a statement on his Twitter account about whether he could get corona virus from sacrificial meat.

Professor Dr. Özlü said, “Are you asked if the virus is transmitted from victim meat? The answer to the question is a bit complicated, and I will try to answer it in a few steps, ”he underlined the following:

* Let’s start with the question, ‘Does the victim have a virus?’ Whether the patient or the people who carry the healthy virus are scattered during talking, coughing, sneezing, the droplets on the meat can stay alive for a few hours. There may be a risk of contamination during this time.

* Even if the meat is infected, the virus is not transmitted when you cook it properly. There is no smearing when you touch it with your hand. However, it can be transmitted if you touch your meat with your hands, mouth and nose without washing with soap.

AFTER THE TOUCH OF ETE…

Professor Dr. Stating that it is possible that one of the people who do the concise, sacrifice and share business or who are in a crowded environment can be infected, he continued as follows:

* During the processes such as cutting, sharing of meat, transportation, storage, preparation for cooking, much attention should be paid to hand hygiene. Hands should not be in contact with the mouth, nose and eyes without washing with water and soap for at least 20-30 seconds after touching the meat.

* Cutting and sharing should be done by as few people as possible, and unrelated people should not walk around. Everyone in the environment should wear their mask duly. There should be enough washbasins, soap and paper towels for hand washing.
