Last day, most Covid-19 cases were registered in Riga and Kuldiga region – Regions

Of the new Covid-19-infected people discovered last day, most are registered in Riga and Kuldiga region, according to data compiled by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

13 new patients have been registered in the capital and their total number has reached 172. In turn, seven new patients have been registered in Kuldīga municipality, the total number has reached 40 people.

Four new infected people have also been registered in Olaine municipality and there are now 23 people with Covid-19. One new infected person has also been registered in Valmiera, Ķekava, Garkalne, Engure and Ropaži counties, as well as in some municipalities, where the number of infections has not exceeded the limit of five cases so far and their exact number is not detected.

11 new infections are between the ages of 30 and 39, six are between the ages of 60 and 69, and four are children under the age of nine. Three patients are in the age groups of 40 to 49 years and 50 to 59 years. Two patients are over 70 years old, but one patient is between ten and 19 years old.

It has already been reported that a total of 32 cases of Covid-19 were registered in Latvia last day, but one person who was confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 died, according to SPKC data.

The deceased was in the age group of 80 to 85 years. In the last day, a total of 3517 Covid-19 tests have been performed in the country, while a total of 315 747 Covid-19 examinations have been performed so far, 1729 persons have become ill and 1307 have recovered. A total of 37 people who had been confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 died.

Seven patients with Covid-19 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours. A total of 16 Covid-19 patients are treated in inpatients, all of whom have a moderate course of disease. To date, 227 patients have been discharged from the hospital, including both recovered and dead.
