A total of 211,937 examinations were performed in Latvia, 1,288 persons became ill and 1,070 recovered, 32 died.
Two patients with Covid-19 have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours. A total of seven patients are treated in hospitals: all with moderate disease.
A total of 193 patients were discharged from the hospital.
In the last 24 hours, 1891 COVID-19 tests were performed, 7 new cases were registered. A total of 211,937 examinations were performed in Latvia, 1,288 persons became ill and 1,070 recovered, 32 died.

The information available to the SPKC shows that 3 patients are contact persons, 1 patient has returned from abroad (Estonia), communication has been initiated with 3 persons to clarify additional information. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
It has already been reported that an emergency situation was declared on 12 March in connection with the spread of Covid-19 throughout Latvia, which ended on 9 June.
World Health Organization (WHO) has named the new coronavirus disease. It is called Covid-19. The name is made up of the words “corona”, “virus” and “disease”. The number 19, in turn, indicates the year in which the outbreak of the virus began. The first reports of the virus outbreak appeared on December 31 last year.
