Langreo’s 10th book exchange program kicks off Tuesday

The sociocultural group “Les Filanderes” will launch next Tuesday, in collaboration with the Langreo City Council, the tenth textbook exchange program. More than 350 families participated in the previous edition, surpassing the figures of previous years, assured Ludi González, president of the group, in the presentation held yesterday at the Consistory, which was attended by the Mayor, Carmen Arbesú, and the Councilor for Social Services Sara Fernandez Brana.

The textbook exchange program covers from third to sixth year of Primary, from first to fourth year of ESO and the two years of Baccalaureate. The first phase begins next Tuesday and will end on July 21. On these days, families will deliver the volumes and receive the vouchers with which they have to return to pick up those they need for the next course.

The second phase will begin on August 8 and end on September 7. There is a third, from September 12 to October 11, where books will be delivered to families who do not have vouchers but commit, by signing a document, to return the copies.

Families interested in participating in the book exchange program should go to the local “Les Filanderes”, located on Cipriano Pedrosa street, in the Renfe de Sama station building. The Councilor for Social Services highlighted the work carried out by the socio-cultural group “Les Filanderes”. “I hope that this project lasts for many years,” she said before noting that other city councils have approached Langreo asking about the initiative. The councilor stressed that families can also make donations of textbooks within this program.
