The spokesman of the General Directorate of Road Protection and Safety (Provial), Juan Carlos Aquino, reports that a landslide completely blocks the passage at kilometer 208, Inter-American Highway, CA-1 West, towards Huehuetenango. Large boulders fell on the two lanes in the village of Pitzal, Momostenango, Totonicapán. Provial agents are on site to order transit. According to Aquino, they have already coordinated with the authorities of Road Zone 5 of Caminos de Quetzaltenango to clear the passage that connects with the Mexican border in the village of La Mesilla, La Democracia, Huehuetenango.
