Two months after the Green Party called for a boycott, the city’s Forest Service continues to supply Ilim Timber. Landsberg member of parliament Ludwig Hartmann wants to change that.

It’s been more than two months since the Landsberger Ludwig Hartmannparliamentary group leader of the Greens in Bavarian state parliament, called for a boycott of timber deliveries to the Ilim Timber Bavaria company. The shareholders are Russian oligarchs and should be sanctioned. Ilim Timber countered that the company is neither a subsidiary of a Russian group nor does it have business relationships with Russian companies, but rather acts independently. Neither Ilim Timber Bavaria nor its owners are subject to the federal government and the EU decided sanctions. Why the municipal forest service? Landsberg and the Bavarian State Forests continue to supply Ilim Timber and why Hartmann does not want to give up.
