The first plug-in hybrid car is planned by the Italian carmaker from the Volkswagen Group next year. An electric car should follow in the second half of the decade. Since 2025, the company wants to halve its carbon dioxide emissions. Electrification of Lamborgini cars according to Bloomberg the Volkswagen Group also generously supports it.
The company recently introduced last year’s record results. It sold 8,405 cars, of which more than 5,000 were for the Urus SUV. Total sales increased by thirteen percent year on year.
Development of electric car
Lamborghini continues to work on the final design of its first electric car, says Winkelmann. He admitted that the management’s ideas leaned towards a four-door model suitable for everyday use, without specifying whether it would be an SUV or a gran turismo class car. In the past, however, Sant’Agata has voiced that it would be more of an electric GT, paying tribute to Lamborghini to its beginnings or the famous espada, a four-seater GT produced in the 1960s and 1970s.

In any case, according to previously revealed plans, the electric car will become the fourth model line, so it should not replace any of today’s models. It is supposed to be presented sometime in the second half of the decade.
The first hybrid next year will probably be the successor to Aventador, which is already being tested. He will have a twelve-cylinder fork, but an electric motor will be added. A hybrid replacement for the Huracán model should make its debut in 2024, but it will probably rearm from a ten-cylinder to an electrified eight-cylinder. By 2024, Urus, or perhaps his successor, should see a hybrid drive.
By the way, Lamborghini is preparing four new products this year. One is the facelift of the urus, the other the off-road Huracán Sterrato. The remaining could be a sharper variant of urus and another hurricane derivative.
