Lambayeque launches vaccination campaign against covid-19 for children under 5 | News

After the arrival of a batch of 50,000 doses of pediatric vaccines, the Regional Health Directorate (Geresa) of Lambayeque began vaccination against covid-19 in children aged 6 months to 4 years, 11 months and 29 days.

The goal for the region is protect 101,882 children in this age group, who can receive both doses by going to the nearest health or post office.

The main regional authorities attended the inauguration ceremony, chaired by the lawyer Regional Governor of Lambayeque, Anselmo Lozano Centuriónwho in his message stated that he will continue to promote vaccination in the region, targeting children.

In a ceremony held at the Initial Educational Institute n. 030 in Chiclayo, the first children to be vaccinated in the region were Tiago Bullón Guerrero (4) and Ariana Palacios Tarrillo (4), who set the example by receiving their first vaccine lab dose from the Moderna laboratory in its pediatric presentation.

“Our goal is that our entire population is vaccinated and protected. Evidence that the vaccine works is the decrease in deaths, starting with our most exposed healthcare workers. Now we have to vaccinate the smallest of the family and we will do everything possible to achieve the goals, “she added.
