West texas A&M Softball Team Earns High Ranking in NCAA South Central Region
INDIANAPOLIS โ The West Texas A&M (WTAMU) softball team has secured the No. 2 spot in the latest NCAA South Central Region Rankings, according to an announcement made Wednesday by the NCAA headquarters. Another ranking update is scheduled for release on April 30.
UT Tyler currently holds the top position in the rankings. Following WTAMU at No.3 is Angelo State. oklahoma Christian is ranked fourth, with Colorado Mesa, MSU Denver, Colorado Christian, and lubbock Christian rounding out the top eight. Cameron and St.Edward’s occupy the ninth and 10th spots, respectively.
Road to the Regional Tournament
The top eight teams from the South Central Region will advance to the Regional Tournament, scheduled for May 8-10. The tournament will be held at two regional sites. Automatic bids are awarded to the winners of the Lone Star Conference (LSC) and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) tournaments. The remaining six spots will be filled with at-large selections.
The NCAA Division II Championship field announcement will follow the Lone Star Conference Tournament. Regional Tournament action will take place May 8-10, with the top two seeds hosting. Winners of each regional bracket will then compete in the Super Regional series at the higher seed location on May 15-16. The 2025 NCAA Division II Women’s College World Series is slated to begin May 22 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
