La Poste de Côte d’Ivoire launches the “Poste Assurances” product with a brokerage company and an insurance group

Isaac Gnamba assures us that La Poste is finally ready for the start of the sale of automobile insurance in all the postal agencies in Abidjan, after several preparatory stages which have seen the active participation of the Sonam and Inclusive Guarantee teams. He sincerely hopes that this partnership will be a real success because, as he underlined, “Everyone wins”.

Long before him, the Country Director of Inclusive Guarantee, Marius Baï Kora, presented this structure, an insurance broker, particularly in microinsurance. It sets up insurance mechanism mechanisms for populations who are usually excluded from the insurance system. But under the new product, it is not microinsurance. Inclusive Guarantee has thought of new methods of distributing insurance products. “Usually, for automobile insurance coverage, you have to go either to your insurer, so go to the company’s headquarters in Le Plateau or go to your general agent. It is not always obvious. I’m stuck, Saturday morning, or Friday night. I live in Bingerville and need to renew my car insurance, but I don’t know how. So it is a little the idea which animated all the actors to set up this mechanism ”, he explained, before handing over to the CEO of Inclusive Guarantee, Vance Abissa. The latter said that the market they are investing through this auto insurance project is a market that has a penetration rate of around 1.5% on average. “Which reflects the potential that there is still at the national level”. He explained that the choice fell on La Poste because of its network and on Sonam which is represented in several countries in Africa. “The goal is to make the process easier,” he said.

As for Ms. Audrey Brou, sales and technical manager at Inclusive Guarantee, she dwelled on the presentation of the offer. “The insurance product that will be distributed through the Post Office agencies under the Post Auto label is an automobile insurance product. It will be distributed in all the formulas that we know on the market. From the most basic formula to the most complete formula… This offer is 20% cheaper than the average on the market ”, she underlined.

For his part, the CEO of Sonam, Ibrahima Chérif, highlighted the experience of his company and recalled that through this project, she (his company) participates in the effort to penetrate insurance on the Ivorian market. “La Poste de Côte d’Ivoire cannot offer us a better opportunity. La Poste is truly the citizen’s home. It exists everywhere, in all localities. It is part of our national heritage. Through this project, we want to use it to popularize insurance in the smallest hamlets, ”he said.
