La Nación / Campaign against childhood cancer launched

“Delusions of a deserter” is the title of the book published by Miguel Ángel Martínez Bado, a 30-year-old writer and farmer, also known by the pseudonym Mito Bado.

Born in Ciudad del Este, he lived in Buenos Aires and Asunción before settling in a small company called Carbón Cué, in the city of Ybycuí, where he currently dedicates himself entirely to agriculture with the local people.

Bado launched his first book last December, which was written in several cities, and in various stages, thus mixing the color and texture of each of his experiences within the material.

“Let it out, set it free, I think so when I think of the writings in this book. Moments, situations trapped within one asking for a means of escape, so many intertwined selves, so many feelings seeking to be channeled. Forgetting the metric, forgetting the order, forgetting everything. Simply releasing. My own therapy in letters. Everything repressed released to the same patio. Deserting, ”says Mito Bado, referring to his inspiration to carry out the work. “Delusions of a deserter” can be purchased at all branches of the El Lector bookstore.

At the Environmental Information Center of the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development (Mades), the EcoDesafío Mi Ciudad Recicla was launched, a project that seeks to promote and reward the motivation of cities, through neighborhood commissions, to establish practices of inclusive recycling and activating recycling programs. Mi Ciudad Recicla is an initiative of the Latitud R platform, has the support of the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development (Mades), and is executed by Soluciones Ecológicas.

“Commitment and collective participation are essential for the development of a circular economy that dignifies the work of urban waste pickers and contributes to the development of inclusive recycling systems with economic, social and environmental sustainability in the country,” said Ángel Almada Torras, Manager of Public Affairs and Communications of Coca Cola Paraguay. Municipalities in Paraguay with 100,000 or more inhabitants and interested in developing and executing inclusive recycling programs can participate. Interested communes will have time to register until Friday, February 5, 2021 at 23:59. This registration will be made at this link http://bit.ly/Formulario-Mi-Ciudad-Recicla. The winning municipality will be awarded with the development of an Eco Challenge, with the implementation of at least ten (10) EcoPoints (recycled material containers) to be installed in neighborhood commissions in their city. The neighborhood commission that manages to deposit the highest amount of recyclable waste, within a period of 2 months, will win US $ 1,000 (one thousand US dollars) in community improvements.

The Permanent Commission of the National Congress, chaired by Deputy Raúl Latorre, will launch the “Green Month” campaign, which aims to raise awareness of caring for the environment.

The launch will take place after the approval of the project “That declares the ‘Green June’ campaign of national interest, undertaken at the national level to raise awareness about caring for the environment.”

The activity will take place at a press conference this Wednesday, January 20, at 12:00, at the headquarters of the National Congress, where environmental activists and representatives will also participate. The main objective of this project is to undertake an impact campaign during the month of June, taking as a reference the “pink October” regarding the fight against breast cancer.

It must be remembered that the extension of the deforestation law for 10 more years is already in force, which was sanctioned by the National Congress and promulgated by the Executive Power, considering that the period of the regulation reached its limit in December of the year past.
