The meeting of care beds in Payerne goes ahead
The HIB has submitted its 2021-2026 establishment project and the financial plan to the Vaud and Friborg health services.

Seen from the outside, the change is not exceptional. But administratively, it is a symbolic step that the Intercantonal Hospital of Broye (HIB) has made this week. The establishment has submitted its establishment plan (PE) 2021-2026 and the accompanying financial plan to the General Directorate of Health (VD) and the Directorate of Health and Social Affairs (FR).
“One of the major proposals of this EP called “Linea-HIB” is a reorientation of the missions of the Estavayer-le-Lac site”, communicates the HIB.

Confirmed in December after rumors leaked from the start of 2021the project plans to repatriate the 47 beds of the Estavayer Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (CTR) in Payerne, by the end of 2028. In return, a catalog of specialized outpatient services will be gradually developed in Fribourg. An approach launched in 2022, particularly in pediatrics and neuropsychology.
Financial guarantee

The ball is now in the hands of the health services, which must analyze the legal or financial content. The management hopes for validation by September, which would go hand in hand with the financial guarantee of the two cantons.

The Hospital will thus be able to finalize the studies of its expansion project with architects.
