China News Service, Nur-Sultan, February 3, Bishkek: Kyrgyz President Zaparov signed a parliamentary resolution on the choice of prime minister on the 3rd local time, and Urukbek Maribov became the prime minister of the government.
The Kyrgyz parliament held a plenary meeting on the 3rd to approve Urukbek Maribov as prime minister. Before the vote in the parliament, Maribov said in his speech that the new government will make improving the efficiency of problem-solving its main task.
Maribov pointed out that increasing residents’ wages and pensions, improving the investment environment, developing infrastructure, and optimizing the national management system are the four priority directions for the government’s future work.
He also pointed out that the main problems Kyrgyzstan is currently facing are fiscal deficits and foreign debts. Expanding exports is one of the most important tasks of the new government. Kyrgyzstan will make the most of the possibilities offered by the process of Eurasian integration.
Maribov was born in August 1979. He joined the Kyrgyz President’s Office in 2006 and served as Assistant to the President from 2011 to 2015. Since 2016, he has been the Director of the National Audit Office.
Kyrgyzstan President Zaparov stated on social media on the 2nd that the number of ministries and commissions under the new government will be reduced from the current 48 to 12, of which the Ministry of National Defense is a newly established agency.
