Lavrov: We will present documents showing the true nature of the events in the Ukrainian city of Bucha

Russian troops are preparing for a major offensive in the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine, said local Governor Serhiy Gaidai.

“We see that military equipment is coming from different directions, they are bringing manpower, they are bringing fuel,” Gaidai said in a video message to Telegram.

“We understand that they are preparing for a full-scale breakthrough,” he added.

At the same time, Russia said it would present documents showing, in its words, the true nature of the events in the Ukrainian city of Bucha. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov, quoted by AFP. Moscow has been accused of massacring civilians there.

“Today, through our permanent representative to the UN, we will organize a press conference at which specific documents on the true nature of the events will be presented,” said the head of Russian diplomacy.

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the conference will be held at 10.30 pm Bulgarian time at the UN headquarters in New York.

The Kremlin has already flatly denied all allegations of finding a large number of corpses of civilians in Bucha, near the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, following the withdrawal of Russian forces. Lavrov called the images of the dead “fake” and called them part of a propaganda and disinformation campaign.
