Tunahan Kuzu has transferred DENK’s group chairmanship to Farid Azarkan. In a statement, Kuzu cites “impact on his personal life” as a reason to take a step back.
In the past period, I have consulted with myself whether I could reapply the energy and commitment I had during the founding of DENK and since the previous national campaign. Whether I was then able to give more than everything with everything I have in a subsequent period. I have now found the answer and my decision is certain.

Kuzu will remain a Member of Parliament, but will not return to the House after the elections. By now announcing his departure as a political leader, Kuzu says he wants to give his party “the space for the search for a new party leader”.
