Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba explained whether NATO countries will transfer their tanks and aircraft to Ukraine.

The Foreign Minister explained that the unofficial decision of the NATO countries not to transfer aircraft and tanks to Ukraine is not final.

The existence of an informal consensus decision by NATO countries not to transfer tanks and aircraft to Ukraine does not mean that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not really receive this equipment.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Kuleba, informs Left Bank edition on Monday, July 4th.-

According to the minister, there is an official and unofficial explanation for this decision.

“The official explanation is that such a decision exists, but it is not formalized, it can change at any moment. We were also told that there would be no howitzers, just as we were told that there would be no MLRS, there would be no air defense … And then howitzers appeared, and MLRS appeared, and then another air defense appeared … Now we have non-Soviet-type tanks and aircraft on the list … I am absolutely convinced that if the war continues and needs a new level of support, then we will solve these issues, ” he noted.

Kuleba also said that the issue of transferring guns and MLRS to Ukraine began with the same argument.

“Yes, this is an offensive weapon. I told them: “People, is it nothing at all that we are defending the state? Any weapon used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the National Guard, and other Defense Forces on the territory of Ukraine against the Russian aggressor, is, by definition, a defense weapon,” the minister explained.

The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also voiced an unofficial explanation.

“And unofficially… Here’s how President Macron said that there is an unofficial agreement, I’ll tell you this: there is such an unofficial opinion that it is not necessary to directly give the NATO tank to Ukraine, it is necessary to transfer the NATO tank to a Central European country that belonged to the Warsaw Pact, and this let the country give its Soviet tank to Ukraine.

Everyone is satisfied, NATO is replacing arsenals, and is doing a good deed, helping Ukraine. There is an opinion, unofficial, again, that such logic functions. We don’t like it, we talk about it frankly,” Kuleba summed up.
