Developer KT Racing works under the care of publisher Nacon on Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. It is a new game in the Test Drive Unlimited series, the first two parts of which appeared in 2006 and 2010.
Just like the earlier games in the series, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown takes place in a large open world on a ‘luxury island’ that is recreated on a 1: 1 scale. The developer has not yet shown any gameplay footage, only a short teaser has been shown. KT Racing makes the game, which is also the developer behind the WRC games.
The game was announced during an event of publisher Nacon. There, the makers say that players get a lot of freedoms and that players can progress in the game in their own way. The ‘DNA’ from the old Test Drive Unlimited games has been retained, but new game modes are being added to make the game more modern, the developers said.
KT Racing goes the physics engine from WRC for the new TDU game. This allows simulation of racing on different surfaces. Details about cars are not yet available, but according to the developers, many recognizable cars come into play from well-known brands. When Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will be released has not yet been announced. So far “several months” has been worked on the racing game. The game already has a page on Steam.
Test Drive Unlimited and Test Drive Unlimited 2 are 2006 and 2010 racing games developed by Eden Games and published by Atari. The racing games were known for their large open game world. The [/embed]original Test Drive series is much older, racing games have appeared in it since 1987.
