Wonderkid Barcelona Pedri carve out an interesting story at night Champions League. The 17-year-old marked his debut in the competition with a goal.
Pedri entered as a substitute when Barcelona hosted Ferencvaros at Camp Nou, Wednesday (21/10/2020) in the morning WIB on Matchday I Champions League. He entered the field in the 63rd minute, replacing a fellow wonderkid Ansu Fati.
Fati already scored in the 42nd minute and Pedri didn’t want to lose. He scored in the 82nd minute, helping Barcelona win 5-1 on their debut in the Champions League.
The player who was brought in in the transfer market last summer from Las Palmas undoubtedly remembers that night as a special moment in his career. It was his first goal in a Blaugrana shirt, and he scored it in a competition as important as the Champions League.
What made Pedri’s story that night even more special was how he came to the stadium and came home as an ordinary teenager. Pedri comes to Camp Nou carrying a plastic bag containing his belongings.
After the match in which he scored the debut goal, he returned home in a taxi. Even though the teenager who was redeemed for 5 million euros by Barcelona might be able to afford to buy a car and recruit a driver.
