Krems music spring is richer by a star

KREMS. Preparations for the 2nd Krems music spring at the end of May are in full swing. Now all the artists have been determined: Thorsteinn Einarsson takes over the opening of the open-air event at Südtirolerplatz. On Wednesday, the organizers presented the complete program at a press breakfast in the Steiner Tor shopping center.

In twelve weeks the time has already come, then the second spring of music will take place in the inner city of Krems. After the successful premiere with Wolfgang Ambros and Hansi Hinterseer last year, Südtirolerplatz will be transformed into a concert arena again for two days this year. The two main acts have been fixed for months: Silbermond and Die Seer will create the atmosphere in front of the Steiner Tor on May 29 and 30. Now organizer Othmar Seidl announced a surprise guest: Thorsteinn Einarsson should really heat up the visitors to the Friday concert (Silbermond) in advance.

Well-known face of the pop scene

Thorsteinn Einarsson is the first to be on the open-air stage at Südtirolerplatz this year. An honorable task for the young musician, who is no longer a newcomer to the music business. He became known through the Austrian casting show “The Great Chance”, then he stormed the domestic charts with hits like “Leya” or “Kryptonite”. In 2017 she toured Austria with the German band “Söhne Mannheims” as a Supporting Act.

Visited the Wachau many times

“Come along, it will be a cool show”, Thorsteinn Einarsson is looking forward to his performance in Krems. The region is already quite well known to the native Icelander. He has already been there twice at the “Star Night from the Wachau” in Rossatzbach and, according to himself, has already rehearsed several times with his band in Spitz. He describes the city of Krems as “beautiful, romantic and good for a little vacation”.

Südtirolerplatz completely closed

Preparations for the two-day event are already in full swing. According to Othmar Seidl, Südtirolerplatz will be closed to traffic from Friday to Sunday morning and not only on the two concert evenings. This facilitates, for example, catering for guests. According to organizer Sebastian Streibel, there are currently also considerations to launch several side events to keep the guests in Krems longer.

Over 5,500 tickets sold

Incidentally, the organizers are extremely satisfied with the advance ticket sales: Already more than 5,500 tickets have been sold. According to Streibel, 70 percent of the guests do not come from the region, but accept a further journey. By the way, there is also a opening act on Saturday: the Austro-American country band “Nashville” opens the open-air program before the Styrian dialect band “Seer”.
