Photo: City of Krefeld – – Krefeld Theo Windges caused a sensation in 1996 with his “Way of the Cross”. He has double exposure nudes of men and women in the shape of a cross. 150 of these photo art books can now be given away. (ped) A photo can document reality, it can also show a different image of the actual through a section. But it can also be manipulated to stand on its own as a work of art. The Krefeld graphic artist and photographer Theo Windges has mastered this. For his “Way of the Cross” series, he interpreted the Passion theme using human bodies. He has now handed over around 150 copies of his photo book “Kreuzweg” to the city archives, where interested parties can pick up a copy free of charge. – The book “Way of the Cross” comprises 119 pages with full-page photographs. Windges published it in 1996. He shows nudes of women and men that were created as double exposures and inserted into a cross shape. The illustrated book is available in the foyer of the City Archives at 120 Girmesgath. One of his large-format works of art, which he donated to the archive, can also be seen there. At the beginning of the year, the photographer donated documents and testimonials from his working life to the city archive. – Theo Windges was born in Mönchengladbach-Rheydt in 1943. From 1964 to 1969 he studied at the Düsseldorf School of Art and graduated with a degree in photo and graphic design. Since then he has worked independently in his own studio in Krefeld, where he designed advertising and logos for various companies, municipalities and institutions such as the district of Viersen, Messe Düsseldorf, the Medeor campaign and the Krefeld city archive. – On the legendary evening “Art = Man” in 1971 in the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum in Krefeld, a unique photo series was created in which Windges shows Joseph Beuys. In order to get extraordinary shots, he went to the roof of the hall, where he removed a pane of the skylight hall to take the photos from above. The photographs have been in the photo collection of the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum since 2008. – – Related posts:Outstanding Louis Anders leads Black Dragons Erfurt to victoryIt took a year to identify the remains of a woman and there are still no clues about her murder: pol...The Ministry of Agriculture lists a number of arguments against the immediate ban on bisphenol A.Marseille, London, New York ...
