Krakatau Steel Exports 20,000 Tons of Steel to Europe in March 2021

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Krakatau Steel Tbk will export 20,000 your baja to Europe in March 2021.

Previously, the company also exported its first steel to Malaysia in early 2021.

President director Krakatoa Steel Silmy Karim said, in the January-February 2021 period, Krakatau Steel’s sales of steel products increased to 311,758 tons compared to the sales volume for the same period in 2020 of 290,645 tons.

Overall, the total sales volume of Hot Roller Steel (HRC) and Cold Roller Steel (CRC) was 1,603,732 tons in 2020, export reached 12 percent, namely 128,341.9 tons.

This year, it is estimated that there will be an increase in the sales volume of HRC and CRC to 2,040,000 tons with an export target of 155,000 tons, an increase of 17.20 percent compared to 2020.

Specifically, the target of Krakatau Steel’s export shipments to Europe is 100,000 tons in 2021.

President Director of PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera (KBS) Akbar Djohan added, KBS will continue to do its best in helping the delivery process Export Baja.

KBS has a port that has implemented integrated logistics services to provide acceleration and security as the largest dry bulk port in Indonesia with the title smartport.

Through the Cigading Port owned by PT KBS, steel exports to Europe have been going well. shipments to Portugal are the country with the highest export destinations to Europe, amounting to 7,500 tonnes.

“Then Spain with a total of nearly 7,000 tons, and Italy with 6,000 tons,” said Akbar.

Akbar ensures that PT KBS will help Krakatau Steel to export to Australia.

According to him, in Europe HRC products are the main products exported, while for Malaysia, they are HRC, Hot Rolled Plate (HRP), and Hot Rolled Pickled Oil (HRPO) products.
