“KPop Demon Hunters” Arrives in fortnite with New Game Mode and Creator Tools
Epic Games’ “Fortnite” is partnering with Netflix to bring the world of “KPop Demon Hunters” to life within the game, launching a new game mode and empowering players to create their own experiences based on the hit series. The collaboration, arriving October 2, introduces characters and themes from the streaming film, expanding “Fortnite’s” metaverse with user-generated content inspired by the IP.
The integration marks a meaningful step in ”Fortnite’s” evolution as a platform for cross-media entertainment and creative expression. By allowing players to build and publish their own games using official “KPop Demon Hunters” assets, Epic Games is further blurring the lines between gaming and content creation, potentially attracting a new wave of players and developers to the platform.
According to Epic, fans can “team up with HUNTR/X to protect the Honmoon from the endless waves of faceless demons” in the new “Demon Rush” Mode, available between October 2 and November 1. Players can also embody the series’ protagonists – Rumi, Mira, and Zoey – with themed outfits and accessories, including a signature “spicy ramyeon” item.
Beginning October 2, “Fortnite” creators will gain access to licensed assets to build and publish their own “KPop Demon Hunters”-inspired games within the platform.
