JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Public Prosecutor NCP (Corruption Eradication Commission) finally decided to submit banding upon the verdict Court Jakarta’s State Corruption in the case of the former Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi.

“The KPK has stated its attitude to submit an appeal against the verdict of the case panel of judges on behalf of the defendant Imam Nahrawi,” said KPK Spokesman Ali Fikri, acting on Thursday (2/7/2020).
Ali said, one of the reasons the KPK filed an appeal was that the judges’ ruling at the first instance was considered not to fulfill their sense of justice.
In addition, continued Ali, the judge’s verdict related to the amount of replacement money that had to be paid by the Imam was also not in accordance with the demands of the KPK Public Prosecutor.
“Regarding the full appeal reasons, the KPK prosecutor will describe in the appeal memory which will be immediately compiled and submitted to the DKI Jakarta High Court through the Central Jakarta District Court,” Ali said.
The KPK hopes that the Jakarta High Court panel of judges will grant the KPK’s Public Prosecutor’s appeal.
