KPK Promises To Be Indiscriminate To Examine Anies in the DKI Land Case


Corruption Eradication Commission (NCP) mentioned the need to summon several parties related to the land corruption case in Munjul, Cipayung District, East Jakarta DKI Jakarta. Including, a statement from the Governor Anies Baswedan.

The chairman of the KPK, Firli Bahuri, spoke about the decision. Anies is said to understand the preparation of the DKI Regional Budget.

“In the preparation of the DKI APBD budget program, the Governor of DKI is very understanding, as well as his colleagues in the DKI DPRD who have the task of authority to determine the RAPBD to become APBD, they should know about the budget allocation for DKI land acquisition. So it is necessary to ask for information so that it becomes clear,” said Firli to detikcom, Monday (12/7/2021).

Firli said the KPK would reveal all parties suspected of being involved in this case. The KPK, said Firli, will not be indiscriminate in eradicating corruption in Indonesia.

“We will reveal all parties who are suspected of being involved, both from the legislative and executive circles. The land acquisition budget is a huge loss to the state. So whoever the perpetrators are involved, with sufficient evidence, we will not indiscriminately because that is the working principle of the KPK,” Firli explained.

“KPK understands the public’s desire that cases of alleged corruption can be completely resolved with legal certainty, creating a sense of justice and benefit for the community, therefore the investigation is still ongoing,” he added.

Furthermore, Firli said that the KPK works based on sufficient evidence to uncover a case. Firli said the KPK would not name a suspect without sufficient evidence.

“KPK works on the basis of sufficient evidence and sufficient evidence. For this reason, the KPK must work to find and collect evidence in order to shed light on criminal events and with this evidence, find the suspect. This is necessary because the KPK upholds the principles of- The main tasks of the KPK are in the public interest, legal certainty, justice, transparency, accountability, proportionate and upholding human rights,” he said.

“It is not permissible to assign a suspect without sufficient evidence, and every suspect has the right to be examined quickly and brought to justice immediately. The sun rise and the sun set principle must be enforced,” he added.

Overview of Land Corruption Cases

This case was officially submitted by the KPK on May 27, 2021 by announcing the determination of a number of suspects. The KPK suspects that the land acquisition in Munjul, Cipayung, East Jakarta in 2019 by Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya was shrouded in corruption.

At that time, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said there were 3 personal suspects and 1 corporate suspect, namely:

1. Yoory Corneles Pinontoan as President Director of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya;
2. Anja Runtuwene as Deputy Director of PT Adonara Propertindo;
3. Tommy Adrian as Director of PT Adonara Propertindo; and
4. PT Adonara Propertindo as a corporation.

“After we carried out the investigation, investigation, and we found sufficient preliminary evidence. The KPK has determined to increase the status of this case to investigation since February 24, 2021 by naming 4 suspects,” Ghufron said at the time.
