Thiruvananthapuram: Kovid-19 has been confirmed for 5490 people in the state today. The worst affected districts are Malappuram 712, Ernakulam 659, Kozhikode 582, Pathanamthitta 579, Kollam 463, Kottayam 459, Thrissur 446, Alappuzha 347, Thiruvananthapuram 295, Kannur 235, Wayanad 229, Palakkad 210, Idukki 202 and Kasaragod 72.

The genetically modified virus was confirmed in 3 people who came from the UK and were sent to Pune by NIV for further testing. The virus was confirmed in two men aged 25 and 27 in Kannur district and a 52-year-old man in Pathanamthitta district. These are all men. With this, the genetically modified virus was detected in a total of 9 people.

Kovid-19 has not been confirmed in the last 24 hours by anyone from the UK. Kovid-19 has so far been confirmed by 56 people who recently came from the UK. Their samples have been sent to NIV Pune for further testing.

Malappuram 681, Ernakulam 605, Kozhikode 549, Pathanamthitta 490, Kollam 454, Kottayam 418, Thrissur 432, Alappuzha 343, Thiruvananthapuram 203, Kannur 192, Wayanad 217, Palakkad 82, Idukki 179 and Kasaragod 66 were affected by the disease.

The disease affected 52 health workers. Kozhikode 14, Pathanamthitta 9, Kannur 7, Thrissur 5, Ernakulam, Wayanad 4 each, Kollam, Idukki, Palakkad 2 each, Thiruvananthapuram, Malappuram and Kasaragod 1 each.

The test results of 4337 people who were diagnosed with the disease were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 296, Kollam 263, Pathanamthitta 317, Alappuzha 485, Kottayam 429, Idukki 41, Ernakulam 599, Thrissur 402, Palakkad 194, Malappuram 395, Kozhikode 482, Wayanad 171, Kannur 195 and Kasaragod 68 were negative today. With this, 66,503 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 7,61,154 people have so far been freed from Kovid.

There are currently 2,01,293 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,90,389 are under home / institutional quarantine and 10,904 are under hospital surveillance. 1821 people were admitted to the hospital today.


Today there are 6 new hotspots. The new hotspots are Ettumanoor Municipality (Cantonment Zone Wards 9, 32), Vechoor (1), Kanjirapally (4), Udyanapuram (2), Aruvikkara (Sub Ward 15) in Thiruvananthapuram district and Karuvatta (Sub Ward 5) in Alappuzha district.
Today, 13 areas are excluded from the hotspot. With this, there are currently a total of 420 hotspots.
