Komnas HAM will ask the reason why the police searched Ferdy Sambo’s house

Jakarta

Komnas HAM will examine the results of a search conducted by the Special Team (Timsus) of the National Police at the private home of former Head of the Propam Division Inspector General Ferdy Sambo. Komnas HAM commissioner Choirul Anam said his party would ask the reason for the National Police Team to search the residence Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

“It’s not the result that matters the most, but ‘what’ and ‘why’ (a search was carried out), that is,” Anam told reporters at Komnas HAM, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (9/8/2022).

Anam said that Komnas HAM would examine all processes related to the case of Brigadier J’s death. An examination by his side, he continued, was usually not enough once.

“All processes, all processes (we check). If friends see our (inspection) process, it turns out that it is not enough once (inspection), this is three times we met cyber friends, with Dokkes it wasn’t enough that we cross-checked yesterday to Kramat Jati,” he explained

“Including if there is already a Dokkes and cyber we ask. We ask what was done, what method was used, what was the basis for it,” he continued.

Previously, it was known that the Special Team (Timsus) of the National Police conducted a search of three houses of the former Head of the Propaganda Division Inspector General Ferdy Sambo. Lawyers for Inspector General Ferdy Sambo and his wife, Irwan Irawan, said that Timsus had confiscated six items during a search.

“So there is a search process and the investigators continue the confiscation process. Yes, this is the standard procedure of the case disclosure process. So that’s all that was done. There were six items that were confiscated,” Irwan told reporters at Ferdy Sambo’s house on Jalan Bangka XI A, Jakarta. South, Tuesday (9/8).

Irwan said the six items consisted of clothes to shoes belonging to Ferdy Sambo. The items were allegedly related to the case of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yoshua Hutabarat or Brigadier J.

“Shoes, clothes, and several other things were confiscated. Six items,” said Irwan.

“Perhaps what is suspected is related to this case,” he added.
