Father ⁣Fatally ⁤Stabbed at ​Naha Hotel, Kokusai Street Area in Uproar

Naha, Okinawa – A​ stabbing incident at a hotel near teh ⁢midpoint of Kokusai Street in Naha City has left ⁢a⁣ 46-year-old man dead‌ and a 20-year-old man under arrest on​ suspicion of attempted murder, according to the Ryukyu Shimpo. The incident occurred as the popular tourist ⁣destination was bustling with visitors.

Prefectural police report the father and son were visiting Okinawa with family from outside the prefecture and staying at the hotel. Emergency services were alerted by ​a fire department 911 call, leading⁣ police to discover the suspect inside the hotel with a knife believed to be the murder weapon. The suspect ⁢sustained a wound to his arm,⁢ appearing to be a defensive injury.

Witnesses reported a significant police and emergency response along Kokusai Street, with numerous vehicles and investigators present. A woman‌ working ⁢at a nearby clothing store stated she saw ambulances and fire trucks arrive,​ followed by⁢ multiple police cars with sirens. “I⁢ couldn’t hear any screams or anything ⁢like that,” she said.

Another witness, a man in his 50s, recounted seeing individuals​ being carried by ambulance under blue ‍tarps, ⁣describing a scene of confusion and concern. “There were a lot of ⁤people gathering and wondering,’What is this?’ and it was a stir,” he said,adding,”It’s ‍a tourist center,so I’m also curious about the future.”

A 19-year-old university student from Chiba Prefecture, who was checking ⁢into the same hotel with friends, encountered a⁤ security perimeter. “I’m surprised that⁢ Okinawa had no image of a major ⁢incident. I want ​to close the lock and sleep tonight,” he stated.Police are continuing to investigate the details surrounding the incident.
