BVNono (16), the son of Koen Wauters (54), is fully enjoying a carefree holiday. Going on a trip, meeting friends, partying… But not every child is that lucky. That is why father and son Wauters work together for the children in the Children’s Rehabilitation Center of UZ Gent. “Nono has a big heart, he wants the best for everyone”, Koen tells ‘Story’.

Koen Wauters and his son Nono join forces. Together they have recently become the godparents of the Pediatric Rehabilitation Center of UZ Gent. “The question for the sponsorship came through me,” says Nono. “The mother of one of my best friends works here and I also know a classmate who has rehabilitated here. The hospital asked whether Dad and I were interested in the sponsorship and we did not hesitate. I don’t like being in the spotlight – I was nervous during our performance – but for the Pediatric Rehabilitation Center I want to do that. They deserve that extra attention to find more resources. It is only a small effort.”
