According to Global Burden of Cancer Study (Globocan), This is the most common cancer case in Indonesia.

1. Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed type of cancer. The number of new breast cancer cases rose to 65,000 in 2020.

Most of the reported cases occurred in women. Breast cancer can have a good prognosis (predictive) if detected at an early stage.

Therefore, if you notice some changes, such as the appearance of a lump in the breast, consult a doctor immediately.

2. Cervical Cancer

In Indonesia, 36,000 people suffer from cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is cancer that occurs at the entrance of the vagina to the uterus.

Nearly all cervical cancers are related to human papillomavirus (HPV) infection or skin infection.

Although HPV infection sometimes causes no symptoms and can go away on its own, persistent infection can cause cervical cancer. Cervical cancer can be prevented by taking the HPV vaccine.

3. Lung Cancer

Lung cancer is the most common cancer in men. The incidence of lung cancer reaches 25,000 people. Lung cancer is more often diagnosed in patients over 40 years of age.

The main risk factor thought to be the cause of lung cancer is smoking, both active and passive. Cancer can develop because you inhale substances that can be toxic to lung cells.

4. Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer is cancer that occurs in the large intestine. This cancer is also more common in men than women. There are more than 34,000 cases of this cancer.

Most people have no symptoms in the early stages of colon cancer. However, the symptoms that appear can vary depending on the size and location of the cancer.

5. Liver Cancer

Liver cancer is cancer that occurs in the liver. This cancer mostly occurs in men and there are about 21,000 new cases.

Liver cancer rarely causes symptoms in its early stages. Symptoms that are often reported are the appearance of a lump in the upper right abdomen, as well as yellowish skin color and the whites of the eyes.
