Knicks‘ Josh Hart Ejected After Injury and Subsequent Reaction in Preseason Opener
ABU DHABI, UAE - October 2, 2025 – New york Knicks guard Josh Hart was ejected from Wednesday’s preseason game against an unnamed opponent after sustaining an injury and then throwing the ball in frustration. Despite appearing to avoid a major injury, Hart received a technical foul and immediate ejection following the incident.
The ejection occurred after Hart was forced to the ground during play. He then threw the ball, resulting in the technical foul and his removal from the game. Hart had played seven productive minutes, recording two points, three rebounds, and one steal. The incident adds to a growing list of injury concerns for the Knicks as they begin thier preseason schedule.
Hart’s role with the Knicks has been a point of discussion this preseason, as he competed for a starting position after being part of a frequent starting five last season before being replaced by Mitchell Robinson during the Eastern Conference playoffs against the Indiana Pacers. He is also currently managing a finger injury, playing with a splint after undergoing a procedure to repair it last postseason and re-aggravating the ailment shortly after.
The Knicks are already without OG Anunoby, who did not play in the preseason opener due to a hand injury and is currently listed as day-to-day. Pacome Dadiet, the Knicks’ most recent first-round draft pick, started in Anunoby’s place. The team will continue to evaluate Hart’s condition and assess the impact of his ejection as they progress through the preseason.
