The French fashion house, owned by luxury goods group Kering, apologized last week on its Instagram account and removed several photos from its spring-summer 2023 campaign, including a photograph of a child holding a bag in the shape of a white teddy bear surrounded by black belts.

Netizens also noticed that in another photo, a bag from the Balenciaga-Adidas joint collection was placed on top of printed documents with excerpts from a US Supreme Court ruling on child pornography.

“I’ve kept quiet for the past few days not because I’m not disgusted and outraged by Balenciaga’s latest campaigns, but because I wanted the opportunity to speak to their team to find out for myself how this could have happened,” Kim Kardashian wrote on Twitter.

The reality star, who counts Balenciaga as one of her brand partners, said as a mother of four she was “shocked by these disturbing images”. Kim Kardashian adds that she has taken into account “the withdrawal of the photos and an apology from Balenciaga”.
