When the reality series started in 2007, most of the family was unknown. Kim had already managed to draw attention to herself through a leaked porn film and a role in the reality show of her friend Paris Hilton. Her late father, Robert Kardashian, was one of the lawyers who defended O.J.Simpson during his controversial 1995 trial.
The first shows mainly followed the lives of Kim, her sisters Kourtney and Khloe and their ex-partners Kris Humphries, Scott Disick and Lamar Odom. After a while, mom and manager Kris Jenner also came into the picture and her then husband Olympic champion Bruce Jenner, who has been called Caitlyn Jenner since 2015.
