North Korean leader Kim Jong-un shed tears as he conveyed a rare apology for failing to carry his country through difficult times made worse by the coronavirus outbreak.
In a large military parade to mark the 75th anniversary of the Labor Party held over the weekend, Kim delivered his speech, took off his glasses, then wiped away the tears. “Our people have put faith, as high as the sky, and as deep as the sea in me, but I fail to always fulfill that satisfactorily. I am very sorry for that,” said Kim, according to a translation of the Korea Times.
