Kim Jong Un Calls for Increasing War Preparedness!

Pyongyang

The leader North Korea (Jewelry) Kim Jong Un called for expanding military drills and boosting his country’s war readiness ahead of a military anniversary marked by a massive parade. North Korea’s top military officials also expressed readiness to carry out Kim Jong Un’s call.

As reported AFP and ReutersTuesday (7/2/2023), the order was conveyed by Kim Jong Un while chairing a meeting of the central military commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea on Monday (6/2) local time, where officials discussed the “key military and political tasks ‘for the year’.

News agency Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) also reported that “the long-term issue regarding the orientation of military development” was also discussed at the meeting.

“Studyed and discussed there… the issue of constantly expanding and intensifying the (Korean People’s Army) combat operations and exercises… strictly perfecting readiness for war,” KCNA said referring to the issues discussed at the meeting.

The meeting of North Korea’s central military commission comes as new commercial satellite imagery shows “extensive parade preparations” under way in Pyongyang ahead of this month’s important national holiday.

North Korea is known to celebrate the founding day of the communist regime’s military on Wednesday (8/2) tomorrow and ‘Day of the Shining Star’ on February 16, which is the birthday of the late Kim Jong Il, Kim Jong Un’s father.

The military meeting was held a week after the joint air exercise between South Korea (South Korea) and United States of America (US) triggered a strong reaction from North Korea. The joint exercises involved strategic bombers and stealth fighter jets, prompting Pyongyang to warn that such exercises could “trigger an all-out battle”.
