The Kiltegan community hall was abuzz with activity as a successful variety show was held,raising vital funds for the upkeep of the beloved local venue. The event, which has seen a surge in popularity since its inception last year, showcased the strong community spirit of Kiltegan.
John Lennon took on the dual role of organiser and master of ceremonies for the evening. The event also featured a substantial raffle, with prizes generously donated by committee members and local businesses.Technical support for the show was expertly handled by Ciaran Fitzgerald and his team, who managed the sound and lighting. Joanne Daly, accompanied by supporting musicians, delivered a moving rendition of the song ‘Caledonia’. Johnny Gleeson also graced the stage, performing with his dobro guitar.
Siobhan, a key figure in the event’s organization, expressed her gratitude for the community’s involvement.She highlighted the invaluable contributions of volunteers and the unwavering local support that made the evening possible. “There’s just something special about the kiltegan community,” Ms Farrell remarked. “When you put on anything, they come out in force.”
The variety show was attended by a number of community members, including Emily Hourigan, Ned Dowling, Joanne Lennon, Rachel Quinn-colgan, Larry Dunne, Betty Quinn, Josephine Keril, Fred and Eleanor Hunter, james Garland, Michelle Hunter-Garland, Veronica Byrne, Michael Farell, Marian daly, Mary Elliott, Bernie Molloy, and Noel Molloy.
