Killian Peier is recovering well in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Killian Peier did not have to go very far. Unqualified for the second round at Oberstdorf during the opening round of the Four Springboards Tour, the Joux Valley jumper set the record straight for Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER). With two excellent jumps, he took 11th place in the New Years competition, failing within two points of a top 10 that would have been his 8th in the World Cup.

With his two flights at 133 and 132.5 meters, the Vaudois posted his second best performance of the winter. Above all, he reassured himself three days before the Innsbruck competition, on his favorite springboard. It was indeed on the Bergiselschanze that he entered his first top 10 and especially that he won bronze at the World Championships last winter. Another Swiss in good shape, Simon Ammann finished 24th. The Saint-Gallois occupies the 21st place of the Tour.

A Tour still dominated by Ryoyu Kobayashi. The Japanese, however, could not chain a 6th consecutive success in the legendary competition. If he passed a high-flying competition, this time he found himself stronger and must settle for 4th place. The victory went to the amazing Marius Lindvik. At 21, the Norwegian won his first World Cup success thanks in particular to a jump to 143.5 meters in the first round. Simon Ammann’s springboard record set in 2010 equalized. Karl Geiger and Dawid Kubacki complete the podium.
