The NBA preseason kicked off Friday, and most notably saw Killian Hayes make his debut for the Detroit Pistons, the team that picked him seventh in the draft, on November 19. The Michigan franchise faced the New York Knicks and lost (90-84).

Line-up in the starting five, Hayes played 21 minutes. He scored five points (2/7 shooting including 0/3 three points), took four rebounds and delivered three assists. Also a Pistons player, Sekou Doumbouya, for his part, scored four points and took as many rebounds in 11 minutes.

Finally, in the ranks of the New York Knicks, Frank Ntilikina played 19 minutes, for seven points and five rebounds.

13 points for Fournier with Orlando
Four other meetings were held on Friday. The Los Angeles Lakers, defending champions, beat the Los Angeles Clippers (87-81). The Orlando Magic won against the Atlanta Hawks (116-112) with 13 points from Evan Fournier, who played 25 minutes.

The Houston Rockets, without James Harden, who is not present at the Texas franchise training camp, dominated the Chicago Bulls (125-104). Finally, the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Sacramento Kings (127-102), thanks in particular to Carmelo Anthony (21 points), CJ McCollum (18 pts) and Damian Lillard (15).

The NBA preseason continues until December 19. Several teams will play their first game on Saturday, including Milwaukee, Toronto, Golden State, San Antonio and Utah. The championship will begin on December 22.
