killed his friend in the acid bin – Corriere.it

The Milan Court of Assizes of Appeal sentenced Raffaele Rullo to life imprisonment with daytime solitary confinement of six months, while it confirmed life imprisonment for his mother Antonietta Biancaniello, both accused ofmurder of former football player Andrea La Rosa, which took place in November 2017, and sentenced to life imprisonment in May 2019. The judges accepted the request to toughen up made by the prosecutor Maura Ripamonti, now applied as a pg, only for men. The two answer for murder aggravated by premeditation and cruelty, concealment and suppression of the body of the former Brugherio footballer and also for the attempted murder of Rullo’s wife, Valentina Angotti, which took place a month earlier, to redeem an insurance policy of 150 thousand euros.

According to what was reconstructed by the investigators, on November 14, 2017 Andrea La Rosa was lured into the house with a deception by Rullo and his mother, who drugged him and closed him in a bin, sprinkling him with acid. The 35-year-old, at the time sports director of the team where he had played as a young man, he was still alive: he died from breathing in the toxic fumes of acid. His body was found a month later in the trunk of Biancaniello’s car. According to what was reconstructed by the investigators, at the basis of the murder there was an economic motive, because La Rosa boasted a credit of 30 thousand euros with Rullo, to whom that evening he was about to lend another 8 thousand euros in cash that he had with him.

The carabinieri had been keeping an eye on Biancaniello for some time and had learned that she had made an agreement with her son to move something heavy and that smelled bad. They stopped his car on the Milan-Meda highway. There was a blue metal bin in the trunk. There’s diesel, she said. Instead there was Andrea’s body, curled up in a fetal position, still wearing jeans and a blue sweater, a deep wound in the throat, in a state of decomposition and partially corroded by acid. To load it into his car before leaving for a garage in Seveso, Biancaniello had been helped by an unsuspecting acquaintance who owned a forklift. In the Seveso garage, the carabinieri found 24 bottles of muriatic acid. Rullo and his mother had also bought a chainsaw to tear the body apart. In their house the military also found some vials of anesthetic, presumably used to put La Rosa to sleep before attacking him to death.
