Quentin Tarantino‘s ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ Returns to Cinemas This Fall
Los Angeles – Quentin Tarantino’s epic Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is set for a theatrical re-release this fall, Lionsgate announced today. The complete,uncut version of the two-part film will be presented in select theaters in Glorious 70mm and 35mm formats,offering fans the opportunity to experience the action on a large scale.
This re-release comes as Tarantino champions the cinematic experience, stating, “The best way to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is at a movie theater in Glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!” The move underscores a growing trend of filmmakers revisiting and re-releasing their work to capitalize on the enduring appeal of theatrical presentation. Lionsgate, which holds library distribution rights to Tarantino’s films including Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, and Death proof, is facilitating the return.
Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair originally debuted as two volumes in 2003 and 2004, starring uma Thurman as The Bride, a former assassin seeking vengeance on those who wronged her. The film follows her quest to hunt down the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad and confront their leader, Bill, after she is left for dead at her wedding rehearsal. The combined Kill Bill films grossed $333 million worldwide.
The cast also includes Lucy Liu, Vivica A.Fox, the late Michael Madsen, daryl Hannah, gordon liu, Michael Parks, and David Carradine as Bill. Produced by Lawrence Bender and written and directed by Tarantino, based on a character created by Q&U, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair promises a visceral and immersive experience for both longtime fans and new audiences.
