For KIA, this crossover is something new – the image is growing.
The contest “World Car of the Year” has been held for the 16th year in a row, and professional automobile journalists from 20 countries of the world give the corresponding award. This time the KIA Telluride became the car of the year – this is the first KIA award in the history of the competition.
It is ironic in this victory that KIA Telluride can hardly be called a global car – the crossover is sold only in the US and Canada markets. But judging by the reviews, the Russians need such a car – the love of large cars and high ground clearance of our compatriots is in the blood. And for KIA, this is by far the largest crossover in the lineup, the dimensions of which are 5001 × 1989 × 1750 mm, with 2901 mm of wheelbase and clearance of 203 mm.
In addition, KIA Telluride is sold as a 7-seater crossover, so depending on the position of the rear seats, the luggage compartment of the American “Korean” is 510–2000 liters. Under the hood of the crossover is a 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine with a capacity of 291 hp. at 355 Nm of torque. The engine combines with an 8-speed “automatic”. Telluride also has a choice of both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
The KIA flagship is richly equipped and costs accordingly – in the States, you can buy Telluride for 31.8 thousand dollars, which in translation into Russian currency will amount to approximately 2.3 million rubles. Nevertheless, in Russia Telluride is really looking forward: due to its size and 7-seater interior, this car is perfect for traveling with your family, and a bunch of powerful motor and “automatic” will provide a comfortable and dynamic ride. Yes, and it costs no more than rich trim levels of the same 7-seater Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Outlander or Toyota Fortuner.
Some motorists are confused only by the appearance of KIA Telluride in the sense that the “Korean” resembles a number of other models like the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Cadillac Escalade and Range Rover Sport. But the rest of the full-sized crossover is impressive: “Korea respected, close to the Germans pulled themselves up”, “Well done, do not trifle,” “If it were not for the nameplate, everyone would be squealing with delight,” they write on the network.
