The KHL refereeing department clarified the interpretation of the rules for throwing the puck out of the game outside the ice rink.
– Clause 5 of Rule 135 “Delaying the game / Ejecting or knocking the puck out of the game” reads as follows: “The penalty will not be imposed on a hockey player who kicks the puck out of the defense zone, as a result of which the match stops because it falls into the scoreboard, or to any object above the ice surface. “
– If “any object” (scoreboard, noise microphones, cameras) is located outside the ice rink and the player throws the puck out of his defense zone and it falls into this “any object”, then this is a small penalty for throwing the puck, and if the player throws the puck from the neutral zone or from the attack zone, falling into this “any object”, it’s just a stop of the game and throwing from the throwing place.
– If this “any object” (scoreboard, noise microphones, cameras) is located directly above or inside the ice rink and a player of one of the teams throws a puck from his defense zone into this “any object”, then the referee must stop the game and then face-off from the throw place.
Recall in the final match of the youth world championship against Of Russia hockey player national team of Canada was not removed after hitting the puck in the camera, which was located above the site.
The meeting ended with the defeat of the team Valeria Bragin with a score of 3: 4.
