FC Annecy will evolve in National 1 this season after its 1st place obtained in Group D of N2 during the 2019-2020 financial year. Now a resident of the third hexagonal echelon, the Haut-Savoyard club will have to confirm to ensure its maintenance and not go down immediately.

For FC Annecy, this 2020-2021 exercise could be a very good exercise and a fantastic season. But for that, it will be necessary to confirm the beautiful things seen on the grounds of N2 last season. 1st in its group on the evening of the interruption of the amateur championships, the Haut-Savoyard club therefore saw its rise being formalized a few weeks later and thus exulted in reaching the third level in France. With 42 points on the clock, Annecy edged out Grasse by two points and was able to take the lift for the National 1.

But for Michel Poinsignon’s players, the coming season will not be easy because with teams like Boulogne, Orléans, Le Mans or Bourg-Péronnas, there will be a lot to do to ensure maintenance. And the start of the season will be essential and will allow us to see the form of the Haut-Savoy players, who will have to fill up on points. But given the current form of the club during preparation, there is still work …

Difficult preparation

Because FC Annecy is experiencing a very complicated preparation with 6 games played and only 1 victory in the last friendly against Chambéry. The first five games resulted in 3 defeats and 2 draws for the players of Poinsignon. Anthony Le Tallec’s teammates will therefore have to be more serious in order to get the maximum number of points from the start of the season, which will start next Friday against Le Mans at 8 p.m. Or not.

Because Annecy is also experiencing difficulties at its stadium, which the club will be deprived of for several months. Indeed, because of badly damaged stands, Annecy will not be able to play in its stadium before October at least. And the Haut-Savoyard club must therefore find a fallback solution and requested the postponement of its first match against Le Mans with the FFF. No decision from the latter has been rendered on this request at this time. But whatever happens, FC Annecy and its players will have to be ready to start as well as possible.

And in terms of players, Annecy has had an eventful summer with a total overhaul of its workforce. Because no less than 9 players have left the club: Adou Leygley, Barbaret Peter, Betsch Yohan, Cabezas Noe, Enza-Yamissi Manassé, Enza-Yamissi Eloge, Féjoz Jérémy, Kadi Medhi, Kamin Morgan. And to compensate for some departures, Annecy has recruited Banvo Aka Anderson, Boyer Fabien, Mogni Ahmed and Sans Matthieu. New blood with other confirmed players of the club such as Anthony Le Tallec or Jean-Jacques Rocchi in order to allow Annecy to remain in National 1 at the end of the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
