Key questions of the extra league through the eyes of experts: Hradec will fight for Pardubice, says Hadamczik

The Sport.cz editorial staff approached Milan Antoš, Vladimír Vůjtek senior and Alois Hadamczik to present their tips. And while they agree on the team in 12th place, they are not united in the issue of Motor and Dynamo.

Preliminary round fight: Karlovy Vary or Litvínov?

The people of Karlovy Vary need to win in the basic playing time, every other result is moved to the Litvínov preliminary round, for which, in case of a point match, a better balance from mutual matches will decide.

Although I saw Vary play a great match in Pilsen on Sunday, I give Litvínov a better chance of advancing. At the moment, he is able to play decent matches, and a point lead speaks for him.

The big disadvantage for Vary will be that they can’t play in the home hall, where a center to help refugees from Ukraine has been built, and the match has moved to Chomutov. Such a change is essential in such important matches. People would chase them a lot at home. It is a bit incomprehensible to me that it was not possible to wait even three days for the basic part to be completed, and the stadium had to close immediately. I think it could have been done differently.

I would bet Litvínov. He lost to Olomouc on Sunday, but lately he has been playing well, better than Karlovy Vary.

The fans of both teams are close to the neutral ground in Chomutov, but after all, not as many of them will arrive as if they were played in Karlovy Vary. And that is a disadvantage for Energy. There may be more Litvínov fans in Chomutov.

It’s open. Vary surprised me in Pilsen, I didn’t expect them to win there. The current form on a given day and the performance of the goalkeepers will decide.

Litvínov has more creative hockey players, Vary is skilful and aggressive. If I had to put on the experience of difficult matches, I would give Litvínov for Růžová (coach Vladimír Růžiček).

Quarterfinal fight: Budějovice or Pardubice?

Pardubice needs to win for the fourth place for three points on the ice of descending Zlín and at the same time they have to hope that České Budějovice will come out empty in points in Hradec Králové. If Dynamo fails after 60 minutes or the South Bohemians get at least one point, Motor goes straight to the quarterfinals.

I would guess Pardubice. Even if it is badly played in Zlín, the home team will say goodbye to the extra league and maybe the atmosphere in their cabin will no longer be such that they can handle this match. On the contrary, Pardubice has to manage it, because they would be embarrassed by the loss.

Budějovice will have a hard time in Hradec due to the long-standing rivalry between the two clubs. Hradec will step on one hundred percent, he will want to win the last match in order to lure himself to the playoffs before a long break.

It may seem that the draw is playing for Pardubice, but Hradec Králové has a certain first place again and will be preparing for the playoffs rather than the last match of the basic part. I would bet on České Budějovice that they will go straight to the quarterfinals.

I believe that Pardubice will win in Zlín. And I think that Hradec will fight against České Budějovice not only for itself, but also for Pardubice. He will want to meet them later in the playoffs to see the big East Bohemian derby. It would be a great glory for the spectators and a great motivation for the hockey players from Hradec Králové.

Who will advance directly to the quarterfinals resp. to the preliminary round play off?

C. Budejovice and Karlovy Vary

Č. Budějovice and Litvínov
